What is a transfer switch? Most RV folks know that if you want to charge your RV's house battery, you need to plug into AC shore power. Right? Now if you add solar power to recharge your batteries when you're dry camping (off-grid), DC energy flows from your panels via your charge controller into your battery bank. Then if you use an AC-powered appliance or outlet, the DC power flows from our battery bank, through your inverter to your load. An automatic transfer switch allows both your inverter and shore power to alternatively supply power to your RV's circuits and prevent AC back feed. You don't have to flip a switch when you go back to shore power. Go Power's 30 amp transfer switch automatically connects shore power output to your RV's circuits!
Go Power's 30 amp Pre-wired Transfer Switch. (GP-TS) Go Power started with their 30 amp transfer switch (TS-30) and made it more convenient. The GP-TS includes the cable with built-in plug to connect the inverter output and a receptacle that powers your converter only when shore power is available.
