Just released from SMA! The new line of Sunny Boy inverters have the same great features as their predecessors but now include SunSpec signal transmitter chips. This will allow for lower cost and simpler system monitoring, rapid shutdown compliance, and optional module level monitoring when paired with the proper equipment.
The Secure Power Supply (SPS) is a truly stand-out feature of the Sunny Boy line. While grid-tied inverters must shut down in the event of a power outage for line-worker safety, the Sunny Boy SPS provides solar power to an isolated outlet (provided the solar array has sufficient irradiance). Without battery storage, the SPS provides up to 2000 W of power during a power outage!
Multiple MPPT inputs with a wide voltage input range provide hundreds of potential stringing options (Contact SolarPanelStore.com if you have questions regarding string sizing or design assistance). Another great feature is the integrated DC disconnect, simplifying installation even further.
